Integrating Multiculturalism and Conflict Resolution in Islamic Education: A Comprehensive Framework for Educational Institutions

This article examines the integration of multiculturalism and conflict resolution within Islamic education by highlighting the realities of pluralism in contemporary global society. Multiculturalism in Islamic education emphasizes the importance of appreciating, respecting, and accommodating cultural differences while maintaining fundamental Islamic values and principles. At the same time, conflict resolution becomes an essential component in addressing tensions, misunderstandings, and social conflicts that may emerge in multicultural educational settings. This study discusses various effective strategies for incorporating multicultural values into Islamic education through curriculum development, educator capacity building, and active community involvement. In addition, several case studies from countries that have successfully implemented multicultural educational practices are analyzed to provide broader insights into applicable models and strategies. The findings indicate that the integration of multiculturalism and conflict resolution can enhance the quality of Islamic education, foster tolerance and social harmony, and equip students with the ability to engage constructively within diverse global communities. Based on these findings, the article offers recommendations for improving curricula, strengthening teacher training programs, and developing educational policies that promote inclusiveness, peaceful coexistence, and intercultural understanding in Islamic education.
